Ullans is published by the Ulster-Scots Language Society

The Ulster-Scots Language Society has been formed to encourage an interest in traditional Ulster-Scots literature, whether it be prose, poetry or drama; to support the use of the Ulster-Scots tongue in present-day speech and education, and to encourage the Ulster-Scots tradition in music, dance, song, ballads and story-telling. In short, our aim is to promote the status of Ulster-Scots as a language, and to re-establish its dignity as a language with an important part to play in our cultural heritage.

Tha Fower Gospels

Tha Fower Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke and John in Ulster-Scots is the first translation of the Four Gospels into Ulster-Scots. It is the fruit of the labour of several groups of Ulster-Scots volunteers from counties Antrim and Down, working since 2006 under the direction of professional Bible translators, Philip and Heather Saunders, and has been published by Ullans Press, the imprint of the Ulster-Scots Language Society. It is available for sale from Amazon: - order here.

FORTHCOMING

The Ulster-Scots Academy is currently working on the digitisation of Dr Philip Robinson's seminal Ulster-Scots Grammar and the English/Ulster-Scots part (with circa 10,000 entries) of a two-way historical dictionary of Ulster-Scots. These projects are planned to be completed and available on the site in 2016.
